A Sane Voice Quelled
Faye DSouza was one among the sane voices for those who still consider journalism as journalism and not entertainment. She has always been an inspiration to me and several others in the time she served as the Executive Editor of Mirror Now. In spite of being a sister concern to Times Network, the journalistic values and ethics of the channel can be attributed to the presence of Faye.
When other channels discussed Howdy Modi, Mirror now was running a campaign to shut down two polluting factories at Mahul. Mirror now was the only channel to discuss farmer issues, rise in petrol and diesel prices, civic issues which mattered to the common man contrary to those who created war hysteria and coined the terms Urban Naxal and whatnot.
Faye was the voice of the dissenters.
Only time will reveal the real reason behind the exit of Faye from Mirror Now. Her last Urban Debate was on PMC Co-operative bank disaster unfolding in Maharastra.
And this is how she ended her debate.
India will miss you.
